Collins Quarter a hidden gem in the city. This place is almost extremely huge but you would not be able to tell at first glance. It is both a bar and a casual fine dining restaurant that caters to functions and events, and even has a private room where you can have private caterers serving your crowd.Collins Quarter started out in 2007 and is one of the more good looking bars in Melbourne. EVER. The premises opens daily but Sunday, for early breakfast till really late in the night. The place illuminates a sophisticated atmosphere, where typically men in blazers, women in posh dresses and sky-high heels would be hanging out. This is definitely a place to be seduced and feel comfortable at with your crowd. They have several venues. You first walk into Collin’s Quarter’s Pub; be dazzled and walk pass through A Quarter’s Past, a private dining space; The Magnolia Courtyard, a heated alfresco space to have a drink; Also Blind Alley Bar, Ra Cigar, and Cocktail Lounge for a more laid back atmosphere.

And when it comes to cooking, these guys don’t kid around. Their Mussels are always cooked just so and are beautifully fresh with a hint of the flavour of the sea. They are delicate and light with the depth of the sauce balancing the rich mussel flavour. The crumble adds a nice texture whilst helping mop up the sauce. The Leek and pancetta gives the sauce a fully bodied foundation, with the parsley clipping the top off. Also their gnocchi is quite the favourite amongst its regular patrons. It has a great texture, soft and pillowy. The nutty pesto complemented by the sweet peas. The peppery rocket and sharp Parmesan completes the dish with the tomato adding shots of sweetness and acidity. Coming down to desserts, these guys don’t miss the mark here either. Their simple housemade Vanilla ice cream is deliciously creamy and smooth with that wonderful zing than only comes from real vanilla pods. The Chocolate is more of a mousse in texture, lighter and airier but with a great bitterness that balanced against the sweet. The Coffee had a good hit of bean flavour and acid rounded by the creamy texture. Don’t miss to read the highlights of one of the Best Modern Australian Restaurants Melbourne, Collins Quarter below:
