If you’re planning to eat here, you better shift your circadian rhythm to eat before or after the general population does.
At lunchtime, on an unremarkably boring Monday, you will find this walk-in restaurant completely full. And there will be a line in waiting… a LONG line.
Once you get inside, you’re greeted by a trendy, “capture-the-moment” kind of ambience. There is an open bar – the GoGo Bar – to drink at while you are waiting for the table.
Executive chef Benjamin Cooper and his team have one job. Actually, two.
1. Dish out some extremely delicious Thai food.
2. Get the food to match with the restaurant’s vibe.
And might we say that they succeed at it.
Chin Chin is an extrovert. The music is kept loud, the entire venue is chic, the menu is extensive, aimed more towards sharing. The general consensus claims that the pork roll ups are pretty cool, the caramelised pork is great, you can go with the kingfish sashimi or go all the way to “scud city”. If decision making is too much of a hassle, shout out, “feed me”! The menu has that option. It consists of a 7 course meal which costs $66 per person.
