Hidden down little Collins Street between William and King Street you will find a perfect little eatery that struggles to fit it’s lunch time diners into its doors just about every day of the week. It is a small place with a limited menu but everything there is made with love and one would find it difficult to order a dish that has not been made with care and cooked to near perfection. The food feels like something the cooks would love to eat themselves. The first thing you notice about Goz City is the women working the dough in the kitchen through a large window facing out the street. You get the impression that they are quite handy with a rolling pin as they whip and roll out the stretchy dough and are not to be trifled with.
There is a variety of gozleme made fresh to order and on Tuesdays there’s a special gozleme up for grabs (Yay!). Despite its name, Goz City also offers borek, pitas, salads, a few sweet treats like Turkish delight and baklava with coffee to water it all down.
