Maker of the famous South Melbourne Market gozleme, and parent of Göz City in the CBD, Koy has a prime location from which to serve its Turkish fare. The setting is warm and inviting, with dimmed lights and homely decor. From the inside it is actually smaller than one would expect, but it just makes the mood better as it makes you warm and cozy. The bar elegantly takes up much of the floor space and thus, smaller tables are arranged all around it. There are quite a number of covered tables outside which will surely come in handy on a nice, sunny day.
If you don’t mind lining up for food then you would find the experience quite enjoyable and the wait absolutely worth it. The Turkish ladies preparing the gözleme are ever so happy and lovely that it is almost infectious. If you ask for their personal recommendations then you would surely be in for a delight. The suggested minced meat gözleme served with yoghurt is simply mesmerising and totally worth the gamble. It is nice and crunchy on the outside, fresh and juicy on the inside. Only after going through this entire experience, which is no less than a roller coaster one, a person would be able to understand as to why there are always such long queues. And rest assured, taking a bite of their delightful fare, you’d be doing the same. Don’t miss to read the highlights of one of the Best Turkish Australian Restaurants Melbourne, Koy below:
