The joint seems to be eternally busy, but the wait for a table is not too long.
The setting is pretty modern. The decor is fairly simple, but nothing shabby. Although the queue outside the restaurant moves really fast, the staff remains courteous and friendly, never pressuring you to eat fast.
The dumplings are good. The freshness, unique fillings and the texture of each skin is very evident. Shanghai Street specialises in the xiao long bao and the sheng ji bao. The pork and prawn wontons are just as heavenly.
Shanghai Street is not someplace you should come for a long dinner. But if you get some dumpling craving, you know where to go. Don’t miss to read the highlights of the restaurant below–
