Standing in place of Dainty Sichuan, Sichuan House remains as crowded as its older sibling at Box Hill.
In terms of ambience and decor, Sichuan House is very simple. Nothing too impressive. But don’t let the white table cloth fool you. If you’re looking for the spicy, tongue-burning-stomach-agonising food that makes the Sichuan cuisine, you will not find a better place.
The menu is fairly extensive, with a heat scale for each item which ranges from 0 to 3 chillies. You can choose some mildly spicy dish or dumplings, but the specialty remains the spicy food. The servings are large and the food is designed to be shared. Be sure to order the deep fried chicken pieces tossed with dried chillies. They’re especially known for their famous pork ribs.
And be sure not to hit this place during lunchtime unless you like standing in long lines! Don’t miss to read the highlights of the restaurant below–
